Thank you to our friends who joined us last Saturday (2/06) at the 3rd Annual Lunar New Year Dim Sum Brunch. For this event, the awardee for "Favorite Traveler in the LA Basin" goes to one of our newest friends, Chris Ko (C'06), who drove in from Walnut, CA. It was a joy and pleasure to be able to celebrate the new Tiger year with each of you.

Help Asian-American NYC High-School Students Get Into College!

UPAAN NYC is excited to announce our first volunteer collaboration & one-day event with APEX (Asian Professional Extension) in New York City. 

We are looking for 10 UPAAN NYC volunteers to take part in APEX’s College Prep Program, working directly with 15-20 students to help them develop well-written personal statements as part of their college application process.

WHAT:
COLLEGE ESSAY WRITING WORKSHOP & CAREER ROUNDTABLE
Activities at-a-glance:
1) Receive 1-2 essays to review and evaluate based on criteria provided by APEX. Essays to be provided in advance about 1 week before the actual event (time estimated for completing this task: 1.5 hours. You must make a commitment to complete the evaluation before the date of the workshop)
2) Work with students to develop a second draft (1 hour on site)
3) Participate in a college and career roundtable (1 hour 15 minutes on site)

This workshop is part of a greater effort by APEX, a non-profit organization, to provide guidance and support to underserved Asian American youth in NYC through a combination of one-to-one mentoring relationships and educational programs.  For more information, please see: www.apex-ny.org

Private Equity Arm located in NY.

I was hoping that you may know someone that could fit these roles.  I
truly believe it is a great opportunity and a wonderful work
environment.

We are looking to fill upwards of 3 spots, 1 in china and 2 in NY.

1-First year analyst - must be smart, willing to work, learn and travel (NY)

2-More senior analyst- 3+ years experience, familiarity with Private
Equity is a plus but not required. Will quickly find themselves client

3-Senior PE Manager to launch set up a main office in China.  I would
assume 5+ years PE experience (China)

All candidates should be fluent in chinese.
